Written in the voice of your best girlfriend, the one who is funny, optimistic, joyful and wise, with a get-a-grip perspective on parenthood, MOTHER DAZE is a tribute to mothers and a hilarious wake-up call. "This is a story based on the truth," writes Chris Carr, a mother of three and an Elementary School Physical Education teacher, whose Masters thesis revealed the negative impact of over-scheduling children. Carr is no Super Mom and that is what makes her an expert. Like the rest of us, she is sometimes crazed, often dazed but always in awe of mothers. MOTHER DAZE will brighten your early motherhood years and restore your sense of humor! Sandra Kunhardt Basile, author of A Mother's Circle, An Intimate Dialogue on Becoming a Mother. "This is the first "mommy" book I have read that is funny, real, AND makes sense! I feel like Chris Carr is the no-nonsense kind of friend who understands what motherhood is really about...touching on all the issues...but without the whining! I swear, reading this is better than watching a classic LIFETIME movie on a really rainy laundry day. I feel empowered! (But I'm stopping at 2 kids.)" Mary Egan Callahan House Productions, NYC Casting Director, Producer, and awesome mom. "Christine Carr is your best girlfriend: funny, loving and true. Take her hand and laugh and cry through her wonderful book!" Ann Hood, author of The Knitting Circle and Comfort |
Christine obtained her Bachelor's Degree from The University of Rhode Island in 1993. Upon graduation, she immediately began her teaching career as a PE teacher in East Greenwich, RI. She spent many years coaching middle school girl's basketball and softball, and was the assistant tennis pro at Pt. Judith C.C. for eight years. Eventually she left coaching in order to pursue her Master's Degree in the Administration of Physical Education and Health Education.
