As much of her writing shows, she is deeply involved in animal welfare issues and for many years wrote a column, "Making a Difference...," which won the Muse Medallion twice from the Cat Writers' Association (CWA). She lives with her daughter, Marissa, and the cast of Catsong in a sometimes peaceable but always interesting kingdom in Connecticut. Her work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, including Soul Menders, Their Mysterious Ways, The Simple Touch of Fate, A Cup of Comfort for Women in Love, Chicken Soup for the Single Parent's Soul, and Guideposts' Comfort from Beyond series. A Contributing Editor to laJoie and former stringer for the Associated Press, she has received awards for her work from ByLine and The Writing Self. |
T.J. Banks, the author of Catsong, has also written Souleiado and Houdini, a novel for young adults which the late writer and activist Cleveland Amory enthusiastically branded "a winner."
