T.J. Banks

Banks_TJT.J. Banks, the author of Catsong, has also written Souleiado and Houdini, a novel for young adults which the late writer and activist Cleveland Amory enthusiastically branded "a winner."

As much of her writing shows, she is deeply involved in animal welfare issues and for many years wrote a column, "Making a Difference...," which won the Muse Medallion twice from the Cat Writers' Association (CWA). She lives with her daughter, Marissa, and the cast of Catsong in a sometimes peaceable but always interesting kingdom in Connecticut.

Her work has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, including Soul Menders, Their Mysterious Ways, The Simple Touch of Fate, A Cup of Comfort for Women in Love, Chicken Soup for the Single Parent's Soul, and Guideposts' Comfort from Beyond series. A Contributing Editor to laJoie and former stringer for the Associated Press, she has received awards for her work from ByLine and The Writing Self.
